Are You Doing Any Of This At Uni?
If you are living away from home either at a school, university or college then pay attention to this information. If you are one of the parents then some of this information may be a bit shocking.
While there is no way a student can regularly afford to get the catering companies in that doesn’t mean that there excuses when it comes to not eating properly.
Out Of Date
Although there are a few foods out there that wont do you any harm if they are a few days out of date there are many that you shouldn’t even think about touching simply because they could really make you quite ill. Use by dates are the worst as they state use by for a reason however if you notice a best before date then the chances are that it would be okay to eat a few days or even weeks after the date on the tin. On the other hand you will experience some poor quality in the foods. These are very unlikely to make you ill.
Leftovers Anyone?
Unless the takeaway has been in the firdge overnight it is never a good idea to go out and eat it for this reason alone.. The major reason for this is because that left in the right condition bacteria can multiply thousands of times over. The right temperature just happens to be room temperature so make sure you stick it in the fridge. Make sure that if you are going to be heating it up again that you make the meal piping hot.
Greenish Foods
If you are seeing a nice furry greeen patch on the bread, throw it in the bin, do not just cut that bit off.. This is because the mould will produce invisible toxins and they can make their way across to the rest of the food.
So although you cant get on that outside catering make sure that you do not get silly with the way you eat your food.
