It would seem there have been many poor attempts at flying? People try to fly all of the time using crazy new ideas, some of them work of course, while others wouldn’t work even with a plane thrown in.

Icarus

Although this one was only a myth it is still a pretty stupid idea it has to be said. Flying high into the air with only wax to hold the wings together wasn’t the best of ideas in the world. On the other hand his father did warn him not to go up and fly too high but did he listen, like hell he did. A failed attempt at flying that is for sure.

The Ceiling Fan Man

There was a guy (from the US of course) that actually tried to fly by parting together parts from a ceiling fan and mixing together parts from a humidifier and dehumidifier and tried to fly by jumping out of his bedroom window. Of course the only thing that happened top him was a crash landing in his bushes where he received a very painful broken arm and the blade from the ceiling fan went into his leg.

Balloons

This has been in many, many programmes and films from Mr Bean in which a baby’s pram is taken up into the air by a lot of balloons to the more recent UP where the entire house is taken away from all of the balloons attached to it.

Well believe it or not this can actually happen if you attach enough balloons to somebody and this is simply due to gravity and it will of course lift you high into the air.

Other than the balloons there have been attempts that have sounded crazy that have really worked out. The craziest yet most important one was the worlds first ever flight. Without this event there would not be a chance that we would be able to fly all around the world as we do today.
